Matthew Cohen was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Beginning in grammar school Matthew showed a heightened interest and skill level in the arts, particularly tempera painting, portraying his family, animals and even underwater scenes. As time progressed these childhood achievements lost their significance, until several years later when Matthew enrolled in college as a student of fine arts. The surroundings of classical art education were eventually responsible for revealing the profound potential of a creative/ artistic career. Since this time Matthew Cohen has lived throughout New England, traveled frequently in the US and Europe and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the New Hampshire Institute of Art and the Glasgow School of Art. Matthew Cohen currently resides in Philadelphia, PA working out of his home studio and various local printing organizations.
